Along with Icicle, Nymfo and June Miller, Proxima is one of Holland’s most exciting artists of recent years. With a string of outstanding releases on Shogun Audio, Hospital, Inneractive, Cylon and many more, Proxima specialises in huge slices of groovy tech-funk, designed to intrigue the ear and destroy the dancefloor.
A 2011 diversion into Dubstep saw Proxima sign to the mighty Tempa Recordings, releasing a series of big singles and culminating in his debut LP, ‘Alpha‘, universally praised by audience and critics alike.
Inspired by his experiments at 140bpm, Proxima has returned to Drum & Bass with a fresh perspective, blending Dubstep’s cavernous spaces with D&B’s furious audio warfare and instantly gaining support from Black Sun Empire, Phace & Misanthrop who have recently signed and released Proxima material on Blackout Music and Neosignal.
With new tracks already lined up for yet more of D&B’s leading labels and a renewed energy for bringing his mixing skills back to the Jungle dancefloor, the year ahead is looking incredibly bright for Proxima.
